GABA oolong tee – 翠玉
GABA Green Tea is a very different blend of tea, at least in comparison to what most of us expect from tea. Having undergone a unique fermentation process free of oxygen, this creates a very different blend of tea. This form of tea is hugely popular in Japan, where the idea was formulated by Dr. Tsushida.
You might also know GABA Green Tea as simply Gabaron or Jia Wu Long cha, but it’s all the same. It’s a form of tea that has undergone a totally different experience during the fermentation process. It’s been around since the mid-80s and is a hugely popular part of the tea industry today.
The main benefit of GABA Green Tea is the fact that it’s very low in caffeine. While we do preach the importance of moderate consumption (see below) you will find that our GABA Green Tea solutions offer a soothing, different drink entirely to normal tea. This is because instead of being fermented in oxygen, they are fermented in nitrogen.

GABA tea is one type or kind of functional tea, with special manufacturing methods under anaerobic conditions. Because of richness in gamma – amino butyric acid, naming as GABA based on its initials of the special amino acid contained. In Japan it is also called GABARON, due to the release of the tea matching with the popularity of Oolong tea around 1987.
In GABA tea, the gamma – amino butyric acid is a metabolite transferred through the enzymatic function from glutamic acid under anaerobic conditions. Animal and human clinical tests have confirmed that the tea has lowering the blood pressure function. The GABA tea has another metabolite alanine which is transformed by the aspartic acid, having a sobering up function. In fact, GABA tea is the pure natural health tea.
In recent years, medical research reports repeatedly confirmed the importance of GABA tea to human body health, including the capability of effectively relieving modern people’s anxiety, restless symptom and exhaustion etc. It also has the good stabilizing effect on woman menopause barrier and beneficial and protective effects on kidney and liver.
