Black tea from Yunnan province is generally known Dianhong Tea. The main difference between specialty Dianhong and other Chinese black teas is the amount of fine leaf buds, or “golden tips,” present in the dried tea.
Dianhong teas produces a brew that is brassy golden orange in color with a sweet, gentle aroma and no astringency. Cheaper varieties of Dianhong produce a darker brownish brew that can be very bitter.

The water used to steep this tea should be at the boiling point. Use about 2 teaspoons (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes with more or less time is recommended depending on the desired concentration.
